Go LU (JCMO) Blue Tigers!

Aug 27, 2013 by

While most of us are gearing up for football season by planning our black and gold outfits and weekends around Mizzou games, it’s time we make time to see a true hometown game or two.  Lincoln University is about to kickoff their season and they play right here in JCMO.

Did you know the infamous Mike Jones is Lincoln University’s coach?  He took over the spot in 2011, and has been working to strengthen the program since that time.  He has worked with community members in promoting Lincoln’s Blue Tiger Quarterback Club and in encouraging the community to support the team.

Today, there is a Pep Rally for Lincoln Football near Central Motor Bank at 4:30 p.m..  There will be free food, as well as performances by the marching band, dance team and cheerleaders.  If you’ve never seen Lincoln’s marching band or dance team you are in for a treat!  They are a riot!  Lots of talent in those groups!  Find out more here.

Even more exciting?  Lincoln will travel to KCMO to play at Arrowhead Stadium in a few weeks.  How fun is that?  In fact, there is an organized (party?) bus headed to KCMO from JCMO.  Sounds like a fun weekend getaway to me.  Check out the details below:

P.S. For those of you who can’t make the trek to KCMO – go ahead and mark your calendars for the home opener on September 28 at 2:00 p.m.  right here in JCMO!
